In the exhibition "In Between" by Fabienne Meyer from Germany, also known under her pseudonym Bings, and the Vienna-based artist Axel Schindler, the premise of waiting and activities that arise around it play a central role. But is waiting to be seen as something negative, or does it also give us the opportunity to rest, or to observe and reflect on moments of daily life? Together, the two artists cover different thematic areas.

Axel Schindler exhibits process-oriented paintings, paper works, and sculptures that deal with "tense calm" and "active waiting". The contrast between the loud color world and the calm motifs further intensifies the impression of inner unrest. Fabienne Meyer's works, on the other hand, playfully pick up on the omnipresent state of waiting and depict realistic as well as surreal moments. In doing so, the Berlin-based artist often plays with the viewers' expectations — turning the waiting room into a place of encounter, where the people in Bings' works always remain anonymous. Without going into too much detail, she focuses on the environment and gestures of her protagonists to depict the various feelings of waiting. Intense colors dominate the oil paintings, which capture situational moments in which viewers can find themselves. Together, the works of the exhibition "In Between" cover a wide range of conscious waiting situations and activities that can take place around them. The exhibition invites its visitors to consciously perceive the process of waiting together.
