Markus Riedler

The artist from Vienna works mainly in the fields of drawing, painting, sculpture and installation.
He has found his main interest in pictures and imagination.

In a narrower sense, imagination with fantasy means above all the ability to create inner pictures and thus an “inner world”.

With the presentation form of stills or comics like “Sequential Art” he puts the completion of the pictures into the hands, brains and hearts of the viewer and appeals to his inner world.

Pictures have something to tell, and are an integral part of our languages and cultures. The imagination is part of our identity.

In his work we can encounter reflective forms that illustrate reality, focusing on symbolic objects and signs to discuss our habits, preferences, cultural behaviors or emotions such as fears or love.
