Faith Hampton
Faith Hampton uses scraps of paper, photographs, old cast-off sketches, and paintings of lost loves to recapture a sense of connection as she creates, exploring themes of sexuality, beauty, objectification, love, alienation, and hope for reunion. Connectedness, both spiritual and relational, is a valuable part of what may at first seem like an anti-social creative process. Her work visually explores the refractive conversational process of a mind processing an idea that comes from the mind of another to produce a result that is at once unique and derivative.
