Daniela Prokopetz
lives and works in Lower Austria
Studied at the University of Art in Linz and Fine Arts/ Painting at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna with Henning Bohl and Emma Rendl – Denk.
Daniela Prokopetz works are inspired by the forms and states in nature. They tell of the transformation of flowing water into frozen forms, delicate mist and shining crystals. With the help of chance in the working process – the uncontrollable flow of color-water and the gestural tearing of paper layers – delicate and flowing pictorial compositions are created.
The artist enters into a constant field of tension between chance and precision, between change and holding on, between finding a form and its simultaneous dissolution.
She carefully selects her manufactured paper materials, collages them layer by layer and exposes them again decollage-like, creating landscape-like compositions and mysterious-looking worlds.
