Matthias Ramsey studied painting at the University of Applied Arts. His artistic work is closely interwoven with topics of biology, not least through his zoology studies. He sees his works as studies – not only about what landscape painting is and can be.

In particular, the paintings reflect his exploration of intersections between people and their environment, and how they perceive and interact with it.
