Özlem Oktan

In recent years, Özlem Oktan has been intensively involved in Ebru art, originally a traditional Central Asian technique. Ebru is the art of marbling and painting on water.

The uncontrollability of color and form flowing naturally through water to create organic patterns is what interests her about Ebru art. Each work is unique, as the patterns cannot be repeated, even when the process is the same.

Unlike traditional Ebru, Özlem Oktan works with different tools and colors, tries new techniques and likes to create compositions that are not typically traditional.
